Meet Joycelyn

My name is Joycelyn. I’m a proud Texan, a mother, a lifelong educator at heart, a woman with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a vision. Being an educator for the past 26 years, I found it a privilege to work with children and mold their young minds. Being able to inspire creativity and cultivate innovation brings me joy; that joy was the inspiration for Fifty & Co.

Fifty & Co. is a unique platform for women who are experiencing a shift in their lives, women who have a vision, an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, women who want to share, educate, inspire, create, lead, and influence. Most importantly, women who want to support other women.

Menopause made me rethink everything about myself, who I am, my life, my family, my actions and regrets, and most importantly how I can make a difference. I realize sometimes it’s hard to connect with other women and share intimate details. This space is for all women (and men too) who need extra support and friendship from other women (and men) because menopause not only affects our lives but the lives of others around us.

Founder

Meet Shannon

Shannon is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps initially serving as an Aviation Ordnanceman. After receiving a commission, he served the rest of his career as an Infantry Officer. His military experience includes planning, implementing, executing, and supervising complex joint operations across the globe, including four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shannon’s varied professional experiences have equipped him with highly developed leadership and managerial skills.

Upon retirement from the Marine Corps, Shannon moved to the Middle East to be closer to his fiancé, Joycelyn. Through his travels and studies he learned about the disruptive industries of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, sustainable agriculture, and cannabis. While each of these was exciting in their own way, he was far more intrigued by menopause as it was slowly becoming a factor in his relationship with Joycelyn. He did an award winning final project and pitch on the subject at business school, and it became one of the sparks that led to the foundation of Fifty & Co.

Shannon received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY; a Master of Arts in International Policy & Commerce from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA; and an international Master of Business Administration from Hult University while studying in Dubai, Shanghai, and London.
